Italian Dolomites Adventure Itinerary
Day 1-4: Via Ferrata and Hiking in Cortina
We will spend the first few days in the gorgeous mountain town known as Cortina! 🏞 One of the most famous villages in the Italian Alps and known for its breathtaking views, we will spend time getting acclimatized on several day hikes to high alpine lakes. 💦 We will also get adventurous on a via Ferrata in the valley of Cortina! 🧗♀️ This common way of traversing mountains in Europe dates back to the 19th century.

Day 5-6: Backcountry overnight Via Ferrata
Once we have settled into our boots and backpacks, we will hike around Tre Cime di Lavadero by way of foot and via ferrata! 🥾 Building on the skills we gained over the first few days, we will embark on an overnight hike and traverse this beautiful mountainside. With a half day hike, we will reach the base of the largest mountain cliff of the region and use what Italians call the “Iron Path” to cross the mountain face. 🧗♂️ Using a combination of rock climbing techniques, zip lines, and metal rungs, we will use these permanent fixtures to cross to the other side! Once we arrive, we will have a well-earned warm dinner 🍽 and evening at the mountain hut at the top of the pass. Be sure to bring your cameras, some of the views from this via ferrata are the most breathtaking in the region! 📸

Day 7-10: Multi-Day Hut to Hut Hiking in Italian Alps
Building up to this moment, we now embark on our four-day backpacking portion of our trip! 🥾 Moving from mountain hut to mountain hut, we will hike through valleys and mountain passes to traverse yet another stunning section of the Dolomites. Famous for its natural parc Senes Fanes Braies and the massive Forcella di Lago alpine lake, we will enjoy incredible vistas and pristine wilderness. 🏞

Day 11: White Water Raft the Val di Fiemme
After completing our multi-day trekking, we will celebrate our accomplishments by going rafting! 🚣♂️ Moving down the river in Val di Fiemme, we will white-water raft on the runoff from the largest glacier in all of Italy. After spending the day on the river, we will retire to Cortina for sunset in the shadow of the north face of Civetta, one of the most famous mountains in the region. 🌄

Day 12-14: Climbing and Closing Celebrations in Venice!
On our final days in Italy, we will enjoy views from a different vantage point on top of the mountain by way of rock climbing! 🧗♂️ We will spend a day climbing in the mountains we walked alongside before closing out our trip in the world-famous city of Venice. Famous for its glass-blowing and winding waterways, we will celebrate the closing of our trip with a delicious traditional Italian meal 🍝 and heartfelt goodbyes!
