What should you remember and pack for a mountain camp?
Good trekking shoes. Mountain camps offer beautiful views and hiking trips. Comfortable and safe shoes are a must.
Weather protection. No one will go for a mountain walk on a rainy day, but remember that summer weather, especially in the mountains, can be changeable. Typical raincoats usually take up a lot of space. Look for lighter options.
A breathable hat. It’s not just about not getting too sunburned or shielding your eyes from the sun. During long hikes on sunny days, the head should be covered. Prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to sunstroke. Big or small – a cap or hat – must be included! Make sure to add them to the camp packing list.
Following the theme of changeable weather. A thin cotton hat is also worth taking to a mountain camp. It takes up little space, and on windy days it will protect your child’s head and ears from the wind and cold. Advise your child to always keep it in their daypack.
Sunscreen creams. It’s important to care for the skin and protect it from burns. If you wear a cap with a visor, remember to apply sunscreen to the exposed parts of your ears. Their burn is exceptionally painful and bothersome. Talk to your child, explain why it’s important.
A comfortable daypack and a water bottle. It’s worth taking a comfortable backpack for the mountain camp, which will be worn on the back for a long time. It should be light and functional. Make sure to take a water bottle that your child can refill.
Hiking is a great way to connect with nature. Don’t forget to equip yourself with something to protect your child from mosquitoes and ticks.
During long hikes at a mountain camp, wet and dry wipes may come in handy. Pack them in the daypack.
A flashlight. You never know when it might come in handy, so it’s worth having and packing it in the suitcase.
